2018 Honorable Mention Winners

2018 Honorable Mention Winners – Emily Killmon, Courtney Floyd, and Anna Wallace.

Emily Killmon

Emily

Emily Killmon was a senior at Nandua High school when she was awarded as one of three Honorable Mention Recipients for the 2018 Kathleen Walsh Richardson Citizenship Award.  Emily actively volunteered for several community events through her high school and was even awarded as the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Ambassador of Nandua High in 2016 based on her service through her school’s BETA club.   Emily helped to operate the Rock Church’s annual Vacation Bible School during the summer months and also worked as the Nurse’s Assistant for the Rock Church while the camp was in session.  Emily’s passion for nursing also led her to volunteer for the local hospital as she worked towards entering Nursing School after her graduation.

Courtney Floyd

Courtney Floyd was a senior at Broadwater Academy when she was named as one of three Honorable Mention recipients for the 2018 Kathleen Walsh Richardson Citizenship Award.  When she was awarded Courtney was an extremely active volunteer through her high school.  In these volunteer efforts through her school Courtney assisted with number of community events such as: organizing a Red Cross Blood Drive, organizing and participating in the Habitat for Humanities’ Annual “February Freeze” fundraiser, assisting and volunteering at the local library, and volunteering to assist with a local Head Start Program.

Anna Wallace

Anna Wallace was a senior at Nandua High School when she was recognized as one of three Honorable Mention Recipients of the 2018 Kathleen Walsh Richardson Citizenship Award.  Anna was an extremely active volunteer at this time and spent a great deal of time volunteering with a Vacation Bible School in Alabama during a mission trip.  While in Alabama Anna also assisted the Mobile Baykeeper and the Feeding the Gulf Coast Food Bank to clean up rivers and feed the hungry in that community.  Anna also assisted in restoring a community garden while in Alabama which was also utilized to feed the hungry in that area.
