Who are we?
No Limits Eastern Shore (NLES) is a private nonprofit brain injury services provider. Our mission is to to improve the lives of adult survivors of brain injury on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We operate No Limits, a day program, and provide information and referral services. We are funded by state general funds administered by the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and private donations.
Who do we serve?
We serve adult survivors of acquired brain injury, whether the injury was traumatic or non-traumatic. Acquired brain injury (ABI) is an injury to the brain that is not hereditary, congenital, degenerative or induced by birth trauma and that has occurred after birth.
What do we do?
We help survivors of brain injury to be as independent, as physically integrated, and as socially included as possible in the community while encouraging them to engage in meaningful productive activity. We do this by providing a variety of activities which are targeted to help improve and maintain the areas of the brain most commonly affected after a brain injury: cognition, attention, memory, movement, and communication. We also provide information and referral services for brain injury survivors.
