Who are we?
No Limits Eastern Shore (NLES) is a private nonprofit CARF accredited brain injury services provider. Our mission is to support survivors of acquired brain injury. No Limits Eastern Shore is the organization and we operate the No Limits day support on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and No Limits Brain Injury Services Case Management on the Eastern Shore, the Northern Neck and Middlesex County (please visit http://www.nolimitsbraininjuryservices.com for information specific to brain injury case management). We also provide information and referral services to survivors of brain injury.
We are funded by state general funds contract administered by the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and private grants and donations. Individuals may contact us directly (self referral), through the Virginia No Wrong Door platform, or by referral from a provider or organization. Who do we serve?
We serve adult survivors of acquired brain injury, whether the injury was traumatic or non-traumatic. Acquired brain injury (ABI) is an injury to the brain that is not hereditary, congenital, degenerative or induced by birth trauma and that has occurred after birth.
What do we do?
We help survivors of brain injury to be as independent, as physically integrated, and as socially included as possible in the community while encouraging them to engage in meaningful productive activity. Our Case Managers are trained in acquired brain injury and hold either a QBISP (Qualified Brain Injury Support Provider) or CBIS (Certified Brain Injury Specialist) credential. Case managers work with survivors to establish goals, monitor progress, link to resources, and coordinate supports. At day support we provide a variety of activities, developed by our team of CBIS and/or QBISP staff, which are targeted to help improve and maintain the areas of the brain most commonly affected after a brain injury: cognition, attention, memory, movement, and communication. We also provide information and referral services for brain injury survivors.
Where are we located?
Our main office is in the town of Tasley on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We currently serve adult brain injury survivors in both Accomack and Northampton County.
