02/22/13 William, Amy with Suzie

Please listen to this beautiful song Ms. Myrtle came to sing for us. Mr. Jesse Poulson comes to see us every year around this time, to give us a history lesson in honor of Black History Month. This year he surprised us with his sister Myrtle and her amazing voice – can you believe they didn’t know she could sing like this until she was in her thirties??

We also had another set of special guests this month, and we were so excited we forgot to take pictures!! We are very disappointed in ourselves 🙁  They will have to come back again! We had Patti Goodall, Eleanor Williams and Marcia DuBois (Matt loves her name so much we are still repeating it!) of the DARS visit us from Richmond and sit in on our Board meeting. In honor of their visit, Robin Sexauer of our local DARS office in Belle Haven and her colleague Idena came and joined us for a lunch celebration – thank you so much Robin for the ziti and pie and Idena for the tea. Board members Rosemary Pendleton, Philip Martin, Sandra Fox and Annie Mehfoud joined us too, and Durell and Jason’s Moms came by too.
